Fizzy Pop
by Emma Vere-Jones (author)
Kate Snushall (illustrator)
There’s fun for children and parents in the 29 pages of this book.
Particularly those who like metre and verse. Who are not loathe to encounter mentions of bodily functions. Caution: fart warning!
Especially if you’re a parent or attached caring adult keen to persuade little ones that fizzy drinks are not for frequent consumption.
Emma Vere-Jones’ story, backed up by Kate Snushall’s pictures, is about little Lizzy who demanded a diet heavy on soft-drinks, and who – well, you can imagine.
It’s a cautionary tale, definitely dodgy on the science side, but which will almost certainly appeal to pre-schoolers.
